how do you know that smarty? I didn't go to the meeting on wednesday because I didn't see a need - see nobody really expressed any enthusiasm in putting on a comp, or helping to run it, and they needed everything done quick smart. I told them we'd consider running a comp later in the year but wouldn't have the opportunity to run one at mont 24hr. so yeah - I wasn't really keen on hauling in truckloads of stuff again to do a comp on bare ground - next one we do I'll find a nice rocky paddock somewhere and get permission from the landowner. I'll get back to you when I have some ideas and the time to organise them. Same goes for everyone else. if you know of any good places to hold a NATURAL comp (or mostly natural) then give us a PM on the board. - Joel

thats a shame, last years mont comp seemed a success. i just dont know the likeliness of us getting permission to hold a comp on natural. also joel i will have to get that key off you t steal back some of my pallets, need them for practice i know your point with the mont comp but i still think the more comps the better, and i can help bring shit in now that i have my P's and help set up. if you can get some natural for us great, but i dont know how easy it will be... natural is everywhere dude...just that the natural you (sometimes) ride is all on public land...a lot of the stuff I see and ride is on private land (sssshh...) so would be possible to get permission perhaps...as long as everybody agreed to behave themselves and not throw rubbish everywhere

i am reaaaaallly really really shiiiiiite at natural...i need somewhere 2 practice a bit... hehe, well i would be happy 2 donate my ramps and box and stuff if some1 could take them up 2 the location in a ute or something . that is if we have a man-made comp someday . i want 2 go 2 a comp ...i will someday . i might be able 2 make it 2 fassifern which would be cool, but not too likely

this comp will be a lot easier - especially for the lower classes who would have next to no natural experience - don't worry guys we've jumped that whole 'difficulty' hurdle with the first comp

also considering running four classes like seems to be the trend now:
novice sport expert elite
sound good? any thoughts?

sounds like a good idea with the four classes joel... -that way the sport class would be slightly easier right? cause at the moment i think im just past novice, but no tgood enough for full sport.... hmm... but yeah, ill be able to help move stuff for any comps (got the ovlov ) charlie

That comp at the BMX track, while some of the sections were hard (like that big gap to the top of pallets off the fuel tanks) the hard sections were towards the end of the sections and so even if you fived, you should have been able to get a fair way through them. I don't really think that the moves in the sections generally were that hard (compared to other comps ive been to) but you had to be smart about how you rode them (and I guess the experience thing comes into it a lot). So don't make the next comp too much easier to compensate is what I'm saying, because people get experience from comps and will ride better next time.
Got to go to a lecture, bye.

hmmmm...i agree that the comp shouldnt be too easy , but it still has 2 be doable . like its not going to be any fun if u jump of ur bike every second move .
hmmm, ill go now . cyall

Sure, Novice probably should have been easier at the Canberra comp, and maybe sport a bit easier, but the fact that the main difficulties occured towards the end of sections meant that you could usually ride basically the whole section before fiving, which doesn't give any greater points reward than fiving right at the start but is much more satisfying.

actually seb, neither of us are really in a position to pass judgement considering neither of us went to the canberra comp! however, i remember joel telling me ~(ages ago when we were riding at the hex) that the novice class was really only so that XC riders could participate. in which case, i would be past novice.... in reality, i dont give a rats ass about when class i ride in, a comps a comp, nuff said
