Hey guys,
What rear rim do you recommend? Like a Mavic 521? or sumthing, n e ways how much would a Mavic 521 rim cost.

dude u dont need a new rear rim just drill the one u have, it is damn wide! ...what is it, velocity psycho? yeah think so . but otherwise i reckon get a sun rhino-lite . they dont pinch as easy as mavic 521 i dont think coz mavic 521 are heaps narrow, but still i never pinch and i have mavic 521 at 18psi!! maybe i am lucky...touch wood . anyway i think a rhino lite is something like $90 here?or something like that... i think if light and strong is looking for though go for mavic 521 definately! i dont think rhino lite is as light but is wider . oh yeah, and plus i think that silent clutch hub adds weight to ur back ennd dont they weigh like 550 around that? just my philosophy...  cyall ps: sincere apologies if this post just confused u completely!! |

rear shitmano hub -550 grams, hope hub, 350ish?? thats a total of about 200g nothing to serious, you would be much betteroff saving the rotating weight of a wheel, tyre, shoes, pedals, chain or none of the above and just leave it. As for the psycho, just keep it on, mavic 521's are about the same width as rhinolites, they are just heaps taller, optical allusion. I am probably going to drill out my frame tomorrow to save 5g. I might strip the paint of too, might be another 3 g.

hey Rangers,
Joel here...Dan from Austrialshop is coming down within a week or so and bringing me an echo rim, which by the sounds of it is an Alex DX32 drilled, ground, and eyeletted (all done by echo)...the price is $90 BUT if you get one at the same time as me, we can get 2 for $75 each...this rim is 38.4mm wide and uber strong BTW

How much do they weigh? the Velocity is heaps heavy.
