Yeh, but didn't someone say they had cups that might fit ... and try those first. You have a bike shop !! Where's scullin ?

I only do work here. It's my garage. Scullin is north of Belconnen. 25 minutes drive from Red Hill. I have one left hand cup (one decent one at least) and a couple of lockrings. I think I may have a square taper spindle as well...in fact. Therefore you only need to buy 22 * 1/4" bearings from a bike shop and I can construct a BB for you if you arrange a time.

I don't have any square taper cranks at the moment. I'm working at 12 today so any other time I guess.

I've postes an "wanted add" on farkin and someone is offering me shimano cranks + bb + chainring + postage for 55 bucks ! If the BB fist on my bike (only info is 68 mm) it would be great. Otherwise cranks for 30 bucks including postage. What info/what do i need to ask to see if the BB will fit my frame ? cheers, heres the link "just incase" : forums.farkin.net/showthread.php?t=54813

BB should fit. The driveside cup may have something written on it. Look closely. Any numbers?
In either case, those silver shimano cranks sound good. mtb cranks I assume?

you can measure the BB shell width to be approximately 68mm and not 70 or 73mm. You can measure the diameter to be 1.37" and not 35 or 36mm, you can check the thread pitch to be 24tpi and not 1mm or 28tpi.

BB shel is 68 mm diameter is like a bit less then 35 mm, and 1.37" inches being 34. 798, it should good
but I'm affraid I can't check the thread pitch (don't have the tool(s)) is there any way of doing it without using those like thread sample tools ?
thanks again
