cdfeto - you've helped me immensely. I now know what to do with my - similar - skidstar GT frame. I'm going to desecrate it into a cant-brake equipped, fat-tyred, fixed wheel cyclocross bike!
With a wacky paint job...has anyone ever used silicon as a masking agent for painting? I think it would be perfect...

i have un intentionally used silicon in a similar sort of way, on a potato cannon. as long as you don't need to touch it too much you can also use vaseline.

I don't think you can use anything greasy or oily or petroleum based - otherwise the turps you need to clean off your masking agent will also take off the paint! Benign silicon is the one I think...

oh right, the skidstar is 1960s - it's specs are: heavy covered in braze-ons for mysterious 1960s fittings straight gauge steel slack angles heavy 115mm rear spacing for S-A hubs (or BMX hubs) - Joel

Yeah, that geo is pretty similar to my Speedwell's. That central shifter is awsome !
But I can't say I really like those mud guards and a darker paintjob with more "texture" would be mad. - just my opinion

I have three of those shifters if you want one. It's a standard sturmey archer 3 speed.

I haven't read this thread for a while, very cool stuff going on! How can we call remotivate one another to ride trials and enjoy it again? I was watching old canberratrials videos and we seemed to have so much fun?
