Hiya. I can't sleep at nights. I have become obsessed with the Malvern Star Skidstar, and the 1960 Speedwell. They came with a curved top bar in the frame. I want one. I need one, well maybe two...or three... Anyway, I would be most appreciative for any leads toward a bike in any condition, even a frame would be a start. Thanks! Vic. vicval01@gmail.com

I have a malvern star skidstar frame. Undercoated and ready to go. Took 27" wheels. Also a speedwell men's cruiser which you could take all the parts off, they were pretty much the same. Except for the sturmey-archer top tube shifter. But I have a couple of those too.

Hey Joel! Thanks for your reply. Can you tell me how much you want for them both? As it happens I'm not far from Canberra, so I'd be happy to come around. Cheers, Vic

$300 for the pair. The speedwell came from the Canberra Bicycle museum, and is a good example of the time. I tracked down and replaced a couple of things to complete its authenticity and it's pretty right. I'll include the top tube dragster shifter with that, but you'll have to find (or make, should be easy after a trip to the hardware store) the clamp to hold it onto the top tube. You'll also have to find a bottom bracket to suit the skidstar frame. I'll try and find you a couple of leads.

also, the collection would be from a place just off the murrumbateman-gundaroo road, that's where the frame and bike are being stored. I'll bring the small stuff out with me from here. I guess that's closer for you too.

;D Hi Joel, That's fabulous, let me know when and where. Also, re the Victory Tri - A, I'm happy to send some pics, is there a way to post them on this board? Alternatively I could email them to you. I tried using your email address as listed on this board, but it bounced. Cheers!

Whichever you fancy. Could meet you out here on friday perhaps. If the weather is good. - Joel

OK friday now out for me, I'm working it seems. Sorry. Weekend is good, or wednesday next week. As for the repco, it looks to be pretty uninteresting. Just a mass-produced roadie from the early 90s. might fetch you $60 on ebay... You're better off turning it into a singlespeed for your own use. Take all that rubbish off it, It'll go faster. Hell paint it red and call it a Colnago.

Ok, weekend is good. I'll chop up the Repco and make up something bigger. Thanks for your input! Vic
