don't cut through the rim. Borrow Joel's grinder and custom disc if you like. Do press hard and move fast. See video at vids.koxx.fr/koxxweek/day3/3.wmv for a good, if 2 second, example. The vid is 13 mins long but very good. - Joel

I make sure the disc is sharp, and move around the rim in an anti-clockwise direction (doesnt matter which way) back and forth, checking if one area feels sharp then moving round the rim. If the grind feels smooth, it wont work.

make sure u use a grinding disc not a cutting disc, and get a cheap normal disc, none of these diamond edged shit theyll just cut your rim in half, push on the rim lightly and at about 70-80 degree angle, so youll end up with a light sharp grind!! the sharper the grind the better harshnes doesnt matter, light sharp grinds are the best
