well i've heard plenty of times that the hope xc hubs hold up alright to trials use, how about the aireal xc hubs?
more interested in opinions on the rear? any other options? would a fixed rear/FFW setup be a better option?

no idea on the aireals. I imagine they use a pretty standard pawl system, the hope system is much tougher than shimano. Email them and ask what the warranty is on the freehub (don't mention trials).

i'm thinking i will most likely go a hope xc hub on the rear. steel freehub > titanium? 32 or 36 hole and any recommendations on rims?

32 is easier to find rims for. Alex DX32s are pretty word.

the titanium freehub will be a lot lighter than the steel but other than that there's no real difference. I've got a ti freehub on my WI hub and it's still going strong after years of single trials cogs on it.
