A few of us have been talking about holding the next canberra comp out at pine island (tuggeranong).... It is all natural !!!!!!
We were thinking maybe down towards the end of the year, SUMMER TIME.

Dude,
There is no room out there for anything else, it is on a river, so it's gotta be natural or nothing... Don't worry about it being to hard dude, we will make easy and hard lines... it is just a proposal at the moment, we gotta get permission first

Pine Island would be a great venue, though I would be surprised if approval would be granted because of the percieved impact of "Mountain Bikes" with erosion and the like. An obvious benefit of natural comps is ease of setting up, preciesly because you don't need to bring anything else in, which would never be allowed down at Pino anyway.
My advice is to hold the comp, if approval is granted, later in the year, but still before it gets too hot, because the Island will be crowded with swimmers and it is sh1t to ride in the heat anyway.

Well.... i dont want to sound negative but i DO think it will be extremly HARD to get approval from the council to hold a comp there. If we DO get approval however, i think we would be competeing with the public for space Im not trying to sound as if i dont want the comp there because i really do, it would be aweome, nice and easy and a nice change from man made sections. Also we would need to do some major sand extraction, i went there not too long ago with nick baxter and it was completely different compared to when me, Sean and Ash went, the water had risen like crazy and all the rocks were covered in sand, but that was near the main swimming area, so down a bit might be a different story. I say ask the council as soon as possible so that we know if its a goer or not Alex

yeah i think natural would be good for a change. but at the end of the year... i dunno how good a time that is because people might have exams and stuff (i dont think i will) but thats just something you might want to keep in mind.

summer is good because the river will be lower so we'll get more rocks to ride on. i know this is a long shot, but you can always try the natural at belco too - that would be hella sweet

make the next comp hard, but easier than the last one, coz i heard that the last one was too hard in the novice section...
