ok people, ive decided to get a new frame and fork nextyear (in the uk). so i need some advice... which is the best one to go for? im after something really light and fairly strong (so no steel). i dont like orange zeros, but i was wondering what you guys can reccommend (for say 300-400 pounds sterling). has to be 26" (0f course!) . at the moment im thinking about a px zebdi (or are they making a new frame), a brisa bs 20, an ashton, a megamo, an echo pure, or even a pashley. are there any others out there worth considering? and what are the good and bad things about each of these frames? also, on the matter of forks, im thinking about getting either brisa, px knifen, or something else.... again, strengths and weaknesses plz -charlie ps, good to see this forum is finally getting some use! pps, alexx, please update the website u slacker!!! (pics, info etc...) cheers

check out the new ashton fork, its pretty much the same as the cannondale fatty R. (its somewhere on section7.co.uk). for frame, try leeson - handmade custom british steel frame with a 6 month waiting period (so order it now). Although echo make sick looking frames which have a lot of stuff going for them, i dont think they are the best .

who has seen the new leeson prototype? i just saw it on the site, its pretty cool . it has a REALLY weird rear brake mount position . it is like some bmx's, it mounts the brake next to the chainring! and the top tube is split in two and the seat tube is also slit in two . i dunno, its hard to describe, but check it out! www.leesonbikes.co.uk . oh yeah, its also got a really weird integrated seat , i think . i dont know how the hell u would sit on that thing though . c ya . look at the bike!

Charlie i would have to say 'Ashton' they are the sickest bikes. ;D they have no spot for a seat like the Koxx and they look heaps sick. Ashton have a sick fork aswell. If you cant get an Ashton due to lack of $ go for a Planet X 2003 Zebdi which are also sick. Having seen Nick Baxter's urban i wouldnt mind one of them myself and they arent bad for $750.
But it all depends on how much you got to spend Charlie, as the UK is very expensive to live in. Also can you give me some details on the exchange program, thanks Ben
P.S. also do you get paid for your time oevr there??

actually ashtons have a screw on mototrials style seat. and not having a seat post isnt exactly something which would affect my decision on which frame to buy

i dont really like the look of the ashton . it looks bodgy and a bit heavy, like the orange zero frame but thats worse . u know, bodgy welds, too chunky like a freerider, so-on . but the ashton is probably a nice ride .
