Hey blake, was going to call you and organise a ride but without a car everything is more difficult. We did indeed discuss a price and agreed on $400 so if you are interested let us know! As for rear brakes, I would recommend looking at this www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=7138. They usually do a good price but maybe hunt around a bit too. They are a british company so you will need to borrow a credit card or something. Just looked for you and before postage but also before they minus the VAT tax from the price (it will actually cost less that 60 pounds because we don't live in the UK) it will cost $145AUD for a single rear brake, that is a lot of money! However it is a great brake. You might be able to pick one up second hand if you are lucky.

Hiya there,
I have an old HS33 that i can sell you - silver, with a left hand lever. It might need a bleed, and pads would be your problem.... The tpa is stuffed from being hit on something, but other than that it is a good working brake with only a few scratches. I don't know what it would be worth so make me an offer if you want...
You could also consider a v'brake if your frame has v'posts? The avid brakes work just as well as HS33's in my opinion with good cables and levers, plus they are light, cheap and reliable.... Ask Joel he's the spokesperson.... hehe

...get a wee brake. Urinate in public at a stategic moment and get tackled by a policeman. Stops me on a dime, every time.

Vees are definatly an option even with 4 bolt frame. www.heatsinkbikes.com/?p=veeadaptersId say you would be able to get a magura setup (if you can find one second hand) cheaper though. Try on observedtrials.net aswell.

Hey Blake,
I'm not really sure what a normal price would be, but I think that about $40-$50 sounds about right... If anyone thinks thats overdoing it speak up cause i don't wanna rip anyone off....
Like i said the TPA is broken, but the brake will work fine without one, you just have to set them up right and redo it manually as the pads wear.... I don't know if you can get the parts needed to fix it aftermarket. If you can i imagine they would be really expensive knowing magura's record. Its only a small fault so it might be repairable, I'll get back to you on that one....
Anyhow, let me know if you are interested because it is only lying around polluting my garage at the moment, and it will probably stay there forever if you don't want it.... along with all my other crap I don't use, so if you need anything else thrown in to get your bike going I might have something...
I'm guessing you're in Canberra?
