yeah ok,
truthfully the design needs some improvements - i can't use any spacers because they push the calipers too far out - but if make the backing thinner and/or machine a concave pocket at the bolt then maybe the thin spacers would fit. I just have them against the calipers which holds the pads dead flat on the brakewall - pure luck i guess. I only made them because my rim wore through my spanish fly pads and I was busting to go for a ride, so since i only had magura pads lying around at home i thought i would put them to use.
co-incidentally magura pad backings are made to a very close tolerance (they all measure thesame to within about 0.05mm - at least the ones i have) which is a good effort considering what they are and do... the pads just sit into the arms. I was going to superglue them in there, but so far the pads have always retracted with the arms without coming loose...
sorry about the epic! hehe

a bit of blu-tac behind the pad might give you some peace of mind re: retraction.

i have come to think that i don't need anything - if they hold out and don't come loose i'll keep using them, but i also have a few sets of new pads to use if they f'out so i suppose its just a matter of time.... blu-tac is a good idea, although the engineer wannabe within me gawks at the idea! hehe
