Jack and anyone else who's interested, my XC bike is up and running again and it's so much fun I'll just have to ride it. Anbody who wants to do a morning ride at Majura just, you know, say.
I have another off roader if anyone wants to borrow it, or the new one.

How are things going Joel? I sent you a message the other day, forgetting you don't have a trials bike at the moment.
Still working the two jobs?
I am building a chain tensioner at the moment for my trials bike, which I am pretty motivated to ride at the moment. Will post pictures when done. Don't expect too much!

No worries, we might start a bit earlier, then just call us when you get there and we will come down, you realise how slow I am, I hope, times are on CORC site. I have big mobs of lights and batteries, you'll be fine, cheers Jack

OK Jack, if you bring a mob of lights and batteries I'm more likely to be able to ride!
Thanks man.

I'll have a bar light or headlamp, and a battery which should give you an hour or two, you'll see my red terios near the trials area, give me a call and we can be there in a short time, that is if we have started, what time will you get there?

Great ride tonight Jack, thanks so much for the loan of the light. I had a great time. Downhill around those rocky singletracks is very exciting for the firts time at night. Didn't come unstuck though. We shall definitely have to do an earlier ride out there one day. One day lap and four or five night laps, once I get my lights sorted. Good training.

I'm glad it all went well, I would have loved to have been there, but, what a putz, fancy forgetting my lights. Dave is a better rider than me by far, so you would have got a better ride in. Until you get your lights sorted you can use mine, we could all do some night laps at Majura, probably more technical and so better for using lights. I'll be in touch cheers Jack

that would be great thanks Jack. I may take another ride out there this afternoon if it doesn't rain again - the dust will be damped down a bit from this morning's sprinkle.

I have N/R Storm 2 lights, the recharge time is very good, but the battery is heavy, Dave has a much better battery set up, 2 batteries shorter run time and recharge time. You have to weigh these things up, especially over 12 dark hours. I think Lion is the way to go for batteries with HID lights. there again replacement is costly, but you would have seen how bright they are last night. A back-up light is useful, even a really puny thing. I have been stuck twice at night and it gets really dark in a forest, to the extent that it is not possible to move until the next rider comes. See you next week cheers Jack

I think I'm going to get a set of the vicious lights, the same as Dave had. Seem very light and powerful. Spare batteries available too. I did two laps this afternoon, good fast stuff. Bunnyhopped a black snake.
