Hey guys, Raceline wouldnt warranty a cracked frame would they??? Tim said it is cracked and reckons they will waranty the frame, but Trials is really bad on frames and i think it would be laughed at, so do i ask for warranty or just thrash it till its no longer ridable?? Ben

Yeah simon it is, it has got a wee bit bigger, is it worth asking for warranty??? has anyone who previously owned a raceline applied for warranty? Also Simon do you have any spare bolts around for Magura's?

Benny Boy!!!!
Welcome to the world of " Fat Chance of getting warrenty out of Raceline", They wouldn't honor my 2 frames both times they cracked, They are assholes man, If it is only around te bashplate it isn't really anthing to worry about untill it gets to the stage of what mine was..... lol...... Just monitor it, If it gets really bad see if you could get it rewelded!! pretty well the only option unless you wanna buy a New frame, (if you do want a new frame/bike dan and i could probably work out a good deal for ya) ;D
Anyway if you want anymore help, Holla at me i might be able to help ya

What ever you do dont get it welded at grip sport, you pay alot of money for somthing which you can probably get done in canberra. Contact Brian at Neil Bates Automotive, i know nick got is norco welded there. Also raceline do do warenty but it isnt free, you get the frame at a discounted price, sean can probably tell you what that is. 200-300 i think.

if you are nice to raceline they may give you a cheaper frame as replacement but I don't think raceline actually offer a warranty beyond manufacturer defects to start with anyway...they don't actually make the frame so unless they get a warranty from their supplier, they will not give you a free one...that is losing them money to no advantage...
warranties in trials (or lack thereof) are something you just have to accept...some people are lucky and some companies offer quite good warranties...but for less than a thousand dollars for a complete rhino what do you expect? next people will be whingeing about the fact they don't come with a king, high quality brakes/pads etc for the price...it just doesn't happen that way....you get what you pay for
and BTW...the norcos are steel aren't they? finding a good aluminium welder in canberra might be difficult, and they won't be specialised bike mechanics who know about the forces exerted in trials...if you want a trials bike welded then gripsport is the place to get it done...but given that it's a raceline I'd just start saving up for something else and run that frame into the ground...I can almost guarantee that they won't warranty your frame and might even be bad to you because of the bad experiences they've had with the canberra crew before :-)

I wont be getting a new bike, just cos of a small little hairline in the frame, i will ride it till its not ridable and then i will consider another bike. It is only at the Bashguard bolts and isn't even worth worrying about, i just wanted to see how other riders with Raceline did when theirs cracked.
Regards Ben ;D

Yeah, the norco was a steelie and yes aluminium is alot worse to weld because of heat treating, well atleast the 6000 series is, the 7000 series alu has far less of a need to be heat treated. If im paying $20 and can get it back same day id prefer that to $300 +$50 postage. A weld is a weld, gripsport may put a gusset in but thats going to be your main difference and i would think that Neal Bates Automotive has alot better welders than Gripsport if bikes are gripsports only business. Im going to give Brian a call somtime soon to see if the can bake it.

Brian Dunbar is the man in terms of welding. My Norco was steel but I am 99% sure that he will do aluminium as well. Plus he is a top bloke, when I had my norco welded he did it the day I dropped it off, then rang me that night and said that if I didn't live in the complete opposite direction to which he was going home, he would have dropped it off at my house, then he charged me ~$20.
Brian does the welding for Neil Bates rally cars, so he knows his stuff. If $300 really the price +$50 postage for gripsport, you could have it welded 17 times and still have $10 change.
Nick.

get this neal bates guy to do it (he'll only charge you bate's rates :-) if it gets really bad and you have no money...but start considering something new...and maybe start considering UCI style riding...something a lot of canberra mods could benefit from
