ok, just to set the record straight (listen carefully seb!)
i was riding on saturday arvo in kingston and my mate was riding my bike and all of a sudden we heard a huge 'crack". now the hub wont engage when you pedal (the cranks just spin). i am assuming that this is a cracked freehub body (or something of the like) -which is an expected problem with my hub.
when i bought it from rowan he told me that it had a 'bit of play' in the freehub body, but that it should still last, but then again may not. this is exactly why i bought a brand new freehub body at the same time (they found a new silentclutch freehub lying around in the workshop at mals!) -as a preventative measure.
so, now that the freehub is broken all i have to do is get the new one fitted -no biggie.
it is not "so fucked up" (quote-seb), in fact it is still a sweet hub -all silentclutches are (especialy compared to my previous parallax hub -no offense alex -i know u run a freewheel so it doesnt matter for u).
in fact, i would go so far as to say that it is probably better that your hub seb, especially considering how screwed the mech will be after youve now ridden it singlespeed for nearly a month! (good luck getting replacement parts)
"my hub's better that yours, my hub's better that yours, my hub's better that yours, my hub's better that yours, my hub's better that yours" (qoute -seb at rideshop after it broke) (in a really annoying tone!)
and whilst i might dream of getting a king one day, i will be happily content with my silent clutch for the time being until i am no longer broke, as will the majority of trials riders who also use them (just look at the riders from victoria that came up for the comp)
