Hi all, I've been contacted by Jack Spahr about conducting some trials training at Telopea High during the last term of the year. I'm not sure if any of you remember, but I was going to do this last term although Jack and myself were too busy.
The sessions will be held (although I need to confirm because the dates I have are for last term) on Tuesdays for approximately an hour and a half. If anyone is interested, all they would need to do is take their bike along to the school and there will be some kids that are already interested and you would just teach them a few things, starting with trackstand and the other essentials and giving them a few things to practice over a week to two week period.
Unfortunately I can't do it this term due to a temporary promotion, beginning Thursday, to a demanding area.
If you think you can help out either send me an email or chime in here. Jack is a member so he will probably chime in as well.
Thanks everyone.

As Alex has said I would really appreciate any help we can get. I guess over the course of a term (10 weeks) if I could get help 3-4 times. Maybe some tips with some on going things to practice, until the next session. I have some keen guys at Telopea who would be really good to teach and grateful. If you could contact Alex or me I would be chuffed. Cheers Jack Spahr

well I'm out of practice but fairly well versed in the basics, as I have to re-learn them every year...
I'm happy to do it. Are the kids interested in biketrials per se or bike skills generally?
edit: Telopea park is the one in front of mt Ainslie right - by the war memorial? Don't want to sign up for something in the middle of nowhere ie the southside.

One may see Mt. Ainslie from Telopea, although if you if you go out the front door you can see parliament house. Telopea is near Manuka and Kingston. The Telopea kids are aware of what trials is, want more skills but would like to do some trials also. If you could come and do some stuff, that would be fantastic.

I like your thinking Alex. Kids these days can't be handled without teamwork.

This all sounds very positive. The day is Tuesday, from 11 until 1, or 11;30 to about 1, starting next term so about two weeks after this week. I'll post real times and dates, but we could also meet up before if you like to talk about it, I'll shout coffee. I reckon n=1 is right, my wife thinks the equation is n-1 or 2.

ha, I don't have a wife, you should see my garage Jack. If I ever do get married I'm in a good position to start purging.

Look for rider number 406, at the switch backs, no time for a beer but with my riding I might be off there anyway, Jack

so how did you go Jack? I stopped for a beer at the switchbacks, on my 2nd of 6... SIX! Consecutive laps. Not impressive for a solo no doubt, but I was in a team of four.
